Amanda Jackson

Amanda is a figurative storyteller working primarily in oils, creating paintings that celebrate childhood, family life, and the quiet and constant significance of beloved teddy bears and life’s treasured moments. Though rooted in realism, her work is not photographic; instead, she uses light, colour, and atmosphere to evoke emotion rather than replicate reality. Her palette is guided by feeling, memory, and the inner life of her subjects, resulting in scenes that are instantly readable yet reward lingering attention through beautifully observed detail.

Drawing on a blend of old‑master wisdom and the visual grammar of modern life, Amanda moves comfortably between digital and analogue processes — sketching digitally when it serves the idea, then committing to the slow, deliberate craft of handmade oil painting. Her aim is always the same: to create work that adds value to the lives of those who see it, live with it, and recognise themselves within it.

Since 2004, Amanda has exhibited widely across the UK and Ireland, including solo shows at Spencer Coleman Fine Art in Lincoln and the Portstewart Galleries. Her paintings Little Ballerina and Passion of Flamenco have sold more than 10,000 prints worldwide. As a teacher and demonstrator for over 22 years — including livestreamed workshops for the SAA watched by thousands — she has supported countless artists in developing both skill and confidence.
