Mark Gask owner of Gallery Rosemount celebrates 49 years in the
picture framing and art industry.
Gallery Rosemount Aberdeen may only have been open since 2023, but the owner Mark Gask has a lifetimes experience in the art and framing industry. Starting at a young age Mark was framing pictures at 14, but his interest quickly turned to the art itself, gaining knowledge about both historical and modern artworks. Since the 1980s he has owned and ran framing workshops and galleries in Stirling, Huntly, Inverurie, and Tallinn Estonia.
In 1993, whilst working full-time running his business, Mark obtained his Marketing Degree from the Chartered Institute of Marketing in Glasgow, this allowed him to build upon the knowledge and experience he had already gained having his own business. His career may be based in the business side of things, ensuring the day to day running of his galleries, organising exhibitions and working with artists, but his greatest passion is for the art itself.
Throughout Marks career he has represented top professional artists such as Jack Vettriano but he also has a background in nurturing student artists who may not be gallery ready just yet. He believes that art is for everyone, that the process of creating or owning art should be something that’s brings joy, and that the experience of being in a gallery shouldn’t be intimidating.
Gallery Rosemount, open since September 2023 is the newest of Marks galleries, where you can find original art, art prints and sculptures to suit all tastes and budgets. The gallery regularly has exhibitions of art by a variety of artists, where you can see a selection of their new artworks, Mark has sought to create a relaxing atmosphere in the gallery where anyone can enjoy art and maybe find a beautiful piece for their home. At the same time the gallery team regularly take art out on the road to art fairs and shows around the UK.
Within the gallery there is also a framing workshop, its bespoke framing service offers lots of choice, where customers can bring their own art to be framed, the team are there to assist
