Artist - Eric Auld

The Legacy of Eric Auld

Eric was an Aberdonian who throughout his lifetime celebrated, in paint, the wonderful values seen in his city and surrounding countryside.

His inspiration stemmed from the enjoyment of portraying the rocks of coast or hill, the contrasts of sea, river and loch along with the infinite variations of North East weather.

The city with its many virtues had been a fascination for the artist. The architecture, the institutions and industry have all been depicted in his many compositions.

The valleys of Dee and Don have also provided many favourite images especially those notable hills, Lochnagar and Bennachie.
Eric is still one of Aberdeens most renowned artists, known for his highly detailed and true to life paintings.

Eric has left an incredible legacy, within his art he offers a glimpse at the world as he saw it, beautiful and multifaceted. At Gallery Rosemount we are delighted to have Erics work on display, we hope it will inspire you to see the city and shire at its best, as Eric did.
